Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 July 2026

Blu Sky Factory (ABN 49 653 272 260) ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices and rights you have. It is designed to meet our obligations under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Spam Act 2003, and — for visitors in the EU/UK — the GDPR and UK GDPR.

Who we are

Blu Sky Factory is an education organisation based in Perth, Western Australia. We are not a licensed financial planning firm and do not provide financial advice. For any privacy question, contact us at derek@bluskyfactory.com.au.

What we collect

  • Contact details you give us — your name and email address when you register for free training, subscribe, or make an enquiry.
  • Application & account information — details you provide when you apply for or purchase a course (including information needed to process payment via our payment provider).
  • Consent records — where you opt in to marketing, we record that you consented, the wording you agreed to, and the date, IP address and browser used, as evidence of consent.
  • Usage information — basic technical data such as your device and how you interact with our site and course videos.

How we use it

  • To deliver the free training, courses and services you request.
  • To send you marketing emails (tips, training and offers) — only where you have opted in, and always with a way to unsubscribe.
  • To process applications, payments and provide support.
  • To meet our legal and record-keeping obligations.

Our lawful basis (EU/UK visitors)

Where the GDPR/UK GDPR applies, we rely on: your consent for marketing emails (which you may withdraw at any time); performance of a contract to deliver courses you buy; and our legitimate interests in running and improving our business, balanced against your rights.

Marketing & your consent

We only send marketing emails to people who have opted in. Every marketing email identifies us and includes a one-click unsubscribe link. You can also unsubscribe any time by emailing us. We action unsubscribe requests promptly (and within 5 business days as required by the Spam Act).

Cookies & tracking technologies

When you first visit, we ask whether you accept non-essential cookies. You can accept or decline, and you can change your mind at any time using the Cookie Preferences link in the footer. Declining does not affect your ability to use the site.

Strictly necessary cookies are always on because the site cannot work correctly without them. We set a first-party visitor cookie (bsf_vid) to measure our own page views, and cookies to remember your login and your cookie choice (bsf_consent).

Marketing & analytics cookies load only after you accept. With your consent we use:

  • Meta Pixel (Facebook/Instagram) — cookies such as _fbp, to measure ad results and show you relevant ads.
  • Google(Google Analytics 4 & Google Ads) — cookies such as _ga and _gcl_au, to understand site usage and measure YouTube/Search advertising.
  • LinkedIn Insight Tag — cookies such as li_fat_id and bcookie, to measure and target our LinkedIn advertising.

These providers act as separate controllers of the data collected through their cookies; their own privacy policies explain how they use it. If you decline, none of these cookies are set.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us operate — for example our email delivery provider, our database/hosting provider, and our payment processor — and only so they can perform those services for us. Some of these providers may process data outside Australia; where that happens we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled with appropriate protection.

How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as needed to provide our services and meet legal obligations. If you unsubscribe we retain a minimal suppression record so we can honour your choice; you can ask us to delete your data entirely (see below).

Your rights

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct or update it.
  • Ask us to delete it, or to stop using it for marketing.
  • Withdraw consent at any time (this does not affect processing done before withdrawal).
  • EU/UK residents may also object to certain processing and lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority.

To exercise any of these, email derek@bluskyfactory.com.au.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work with reputable providers and limit access to your data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above shows when it was last revised.
